29 weeks, 2 days. Only 75 days to go!

Well, things are moving along rather smoothly. We're kinda in that waiting zone. She's really just growing in there, not too much more exciting developmental leaps to speak of. We're slowly working on getting together the stuff that we need.

We have to find a pediatrician in the next few weeks and decide what we're doing about childbirth and breastfeeding classes. Dr. Rafi recommends them, of course, but they're kinda pricey and the scheduling is a huuuuge pain with both of us working all week and John at school on the weekends. We'll see what happens with that. I have a couple of leads on possible acceptable pediatricians. It's seriously not easy trying to find someone who jives with our way of thinking.

Had our monthly check up on Tuesday. Everything looks good. Only gained a pound and a half since the month before, yay! Glucose test came back normal, so no gestational diabetes for me. She's measuring the right size and her heartbeat was 145 and strong. She's getting a lot stronger and more active. And I'm finally experiencing what everyone always seems to complain about... She's moving up into my ribs. Definitely as much fun as it has been described. John finally heard her heartbeat through my belly a week or so ago. That was fun. One of the only things I can't do and it made me jealous, haha. Anyway, we go back in three weeks this time. I think three so that we can get on an even week schedule (I'll be about 32 weeks) and then I guess we'll start the every-two and then every-week appointments. Fly, time, fly! We want her now.

Trying to figure out what I'm going to do about work after she's born. Obviously, they want me to come back. It's a pain to go through the whole thing trying to find a nanny again, so they'd prefer not to lose me, especially since we work so well. I ALWAYS wanted to be a stay-at-home mom and still can really envision nothing else, but I don't know how feasible that's going to be financially. Sonja will be in first grade all day, Monday through Friday, and Chloe will be starting her 4 year old class so she'll be gone at least half days, three days a week. It'd just be Miranda for the most part. I'm wondering if (and this is only under absolutely unavoidable can't-not-work-and-not-starve circumstances) we could work out some sort of smaller part-time schedule. Maybe like three 6 hour days. I'd prefer to get it all out of the way in the middle of the week and have four day weekends, but as long as I have at least Monday or Friday off, any three days could possibly be okay. I don't know. I know I'm going to try to work until the end of June (I know I should stop earlier, but you gotta do what you gotta do, right?) and then I wouldn't even consider going back until the end of September/first of October. Hopefully by then, John will have found something to cover all three of us and it will be moot. Keep praying.

Working on shower stuff. It's not so hard since we did the bridal shower less than a year ago. Now if people would just buy stuff off of the registry!! I'm so scared we're going to end up with a bunch of really pretty clothes and not much else in the way of practical supplies. We don't have the money (and by 'we', I mean any of us, including the family that usually helps out) to go out and buy the carseat and the stroller and the bottles and the high chair and the monitor and... All that important stuff, you know? People are dumb, though.

Okay, well I updated. Yay, me. I guess I'll be back soon.
